Mozaceni Solar PV project is being developed by European Energy. The project is located in Arges county, a region with optimal solar resource on the south side of Romania. When looking at electricity generation on an annual or even monthly basis, solar power is considered to be a reliable and predictable source for the country.
This project is in an early construction phase, with the planned installed capacity of 21,54MWp, improvement of access roads and a medium voltage underground cable connecting the PV project with the Distribution System Operator’s existing substation. The total project’s area is 24,06 hectares, with a substantial portion allocated to solar PV panel installation. Some space will be designated for service access and to maintain a safe distance from the outer perimeter fence.
Ultimately, this project will provide a reliable and sustainable source of renewable energy, playing an important role in the gradual decarbonization of industry. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 11,300 tons of CO₂ annually, the project supports the country’s commitment to a cleaner environment. It will also enhance the security and stability of Romania’s energy supply by diversifying energy sources and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
